About
Darren Breeze Designs create individual and unique pieces of wall art made from locally sourced native timbers from their workshop in Lowestoft Suffolk, United Kingdom.
Each piece of timber is carefully selected for its size, shape and grain. It is then primarily turned on a woodturning lathe, then further detail, design and colour may be added, using a variety of methods and skills to achieve a unique piece of art work that will grace any setting in a home or business environment.
When the wood does the talking
When the wood does the talking, was created from a piece of brown oak burred timber,when this piece was initially turned, we realised what an amazing piece of timber this was, full of figure, burr and colour, so we allowed the Wood to do the Talking, by simply turning the piece, creating shape and design which emphasised the woods natural beauty.
This piece is 1400mm x 700mm approximately.
Horns of Odin
Horns of Odin was created as a tribute to celebrate the life of fellow woodturner and artist Nick Agar who sadly passed earlier this year. Nick's work inspired the start of my journey into woodturning and his influence can be seen in some of my pieces.
Horns of Odin is made from local rippled sycamore, featuring Viking runes and the intertwined 3 horns at the centre.
This piece measures 1300mm x 600mm approximately.
There's Gold in Them There Hills
There's Gold in Them There Hills was created using a phenomenally figured piece of locally sourced Burr Elm, originally it was going to be left natural, but we decided it needed a bit of embellishment to showcase the incredible figure and colour of the timber.
This piece measures 1200mm x 600mm approximately.
Ashwork Engine
Ashwork Engine was created from a locally sourced piece of Ash, which by nature has a striking but simple grain, partnered with carving gear detail with a metalized finish, it would grace any home or business environment.
This piece measures 1300mm x 500mm approximately.
